About

Welcome to my blog.  My name is Elizabeth and I live in New Brunswick, Canada.    This blog started quite a while ago, when I was completing a certificate in culinary arts at George Brown College, in Toronto.  It led me to view my time in the kitchen, cooking, and food in a different way.

These are stories about my time in the kitchen, how I feel about the food, recipes, or equipment used,

I am spoiled by eating unprocessed foods, making almost anything from scratch.  Home cook it a good description of what I do.  I like to try new recipes, preserve what I make, and keep a well stocked pantry.  Emergency preparedness is important to me as I am quite rural and live alone.  Travelling to town in bad weather isn't always wise, and making sure I have ready-to-eat meals in the freezer in the event of illness are things I prepare for when stocking my pantry.  Now, in New Brunswick, I am also growing some of the food I eat, a new adventure.

Most of all, I try to have fun in the kitchen.

Thanks for visiting.  I hope you enjoy the written pieces and try some of my recipes.  Please leave a comment if you did.
